NCA was established in 1959 by the NCA Ordinance No 413 of 1959 as a
multiple land use area, designated to promote the conservation of natural resources, safeguard
the interests of NCA indigenous residents and promote tourism.
NCA is a unique protected area in the whole of Africa where conservation of natural resources in
integrated with human development. The main feature of the NCAinclude the Ngorongoro Crater,
The Serengeti Plains that support
about 2.0 millions migratory wildlife species of the Serengeti Mara-ecosystem (TAWIRI,
2003) and the catchment forest; the Northern Highland Forest Reserve (NHFR) known as 'Entim
Olturot' in Maa language. Other importantfeatures
found in the NCA are the archaeological and palaeontological site located at Oldupai Gorge and
the early human foot-prints that were discovered at Alaitole in Ngarusi area. Because of these
particular
features
and the harmonious co-existence between wildlife and people that has existed for many
years, NCA was accorded the status of a World Heritage Site and listed as one of the International
Biosphere Reserve by
the UNESCO's Man and Biosphere Reserve Programme.

Kilimanjaro. From there one can get a charter flight, take a taxi or make use of the free
shuttle service. The distance from Moshi to
Arusha is about 55km.
Take note: The road from Arusha to Lodoare Entrance Gate is 160km long. As of recently, the
entire journey is on tarmac and it takes about two hours. Unless you stay on the main roads,

be tailor made according to your travel preferences, the time of year, and what you want to see,
so don’t hesitate to let your operator
know exactly what you want. Game drives are the most important part of a wildlife safari. Game
drives can be long, hot, dusty and bumpy.

depending upon the journey undertaken, and can even be just the short drive from the lodge or
camp to the park exit and vice versa.

The Serengeti ecosystem is one of the oldest on earth. The
essential features of climate, vegetation and fauna have barely changed in the past million
years. Early man himself made an appearance in Olduvai Gorge about two million
years ago. Some patterns of life, death, adaptation and migration are as old as the hills
themselves. The Serengeti region encompasses the Serengeti National Park itself, the Ngorongoro
Conservation Area, Maswa Game Reserve, the
Loliondo, Grumeti and Ikorongo Controlled Areas and the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.
Over 90,000 tourists visit the Park each year.

Balloon Safaris
Balloon
safaris in Tanzania are a romantic and evocative way of experiencing the wilderness of East
Africa, as you gracefully and silently fly over the plains teeming
with herds of wild life in the early morning. Typically, a ballon safari begins between 6 am and
lasts for around 1-2 hours, during which you will likely see the magnificent wildlife below over
several square kilometres of the
game park. Ballon safaris are held regularly only in the Serengeti and take off from designated
sites (in the Seronera area) where the disturbance to animals is kept to a minimum. Your safari
vehicle drops you off at the take off
site and picks you up from your landing site. The safari is followed by a champagne breakfast in
the bush, a fitting end to your memorable flight in the wild. Maximum in a balloon If you want

At 5896m Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain and one of the
continent's magnificent sights, It has three main volcanic peaks, Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. The
name itself "Kilimanjaro" is a mystery wreathed in clouds. It might mean
Mountain of Light, Mountain of Greatness or Mountain of Caravans. Kilimanjaro is one of the
world’s most accessible high summits, a beacon for visitors from around the world. Most climbers
reach the crater rim with little more
than a walking stick, proper clothing and determination. And those who reach Uhuru Point, the
actual summit, or Gillman’s Point on the lip of the crater, will have earned their climbing
certificates. And their memories.
Kilimanjaro Routes - choosing a Mount
Kilimanjaro trekking route
-The Marangu Route
Also
known as the “Coca Cola route” – the Marangu route is one of the most popular routes leading
to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Many hikers believe that the Marangu route is the easiest
route to Uhuru peak, since it is the only route which can be hiked in 5 days (making it the
cheapest option). It is also the only route
offering accommodation on the mountain, in A-frame huts.
-The Machame
Route
The Machame route is our most popular and successful route leading to the
summit of Kilimanjaro. Hikers sleep in tents which
are carried up the mountain by porters. The Machame route is a very scenic and beautiful route,
which can be completed in 6 days, however we strongly recommend hiking the route in 7 days,
allowing for more time to acclimatise.
The key to the success of the Machame route is its topography, allowing hikers to climb high and
sleep low, helping towards better acclimatisation
-The Umbwe Route
The
Umbwe route is known for its caves.
The first night you actually sleep at the Umbwe Cave Camp with two more caves that can be
visited en route the following day. The Umbwe route is one of the shortest routes to the
Southern Glaciers and the Western Breach. It is
probably one of the most scenic, non-technical routes on Kilimanjaro.
-The Shira
Route
The Shira Plateau is one of the most scenic and most fascinating areas on
Kilimanjaro. Depending on the weather
conditions you can drive by 4 wheel drive vehicles, to within a 1/2 hours walk of Shira Hut
(4000m). Even this drive is very spectacular indeed and offers some magnificent views of Mt Meru
and the Great Rift Valley in general.
The Shira route is only offered to hikers who are already acclimatized to 4 000m, by hiking
either Mt Meru or Mt Kenya a few days before attempting Kilimanjaro.

Known as the Spice Island, the beautiful island of Zanzibar on Africa’s east
coast is bursting with culture and history, seemingly at odds with its idyllic geography of
white-sand beaches with palms swaying lazily in the sea breeze.
Together this makes Zanzibar a fabulous place to explore as well as a dream to relax and unwind.
