Introduction

Leading University Project for international cooperation of ODA education at Hanyang University is a consortium among Hanyang University ERICA (Host university), Seoul National University (joint University) and E3Empower(Participating Agency) with the program named “Innovative Energy Education Program (IEEP) for Arusha Technical College in Tanzania. This program has launched in 2020 to develop and operate the curriculum necessary to establish new B.S. degree program in Mechatronics and Materials Engineering within the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Arusha Technical College(ATC) to strengthen manpowers capable of handling renewable energy field.

Moreover, we recommend ATC graduates getting high-level graduate degrees either from Hanyang University or Seoul National University in Korea to acquire educational manpowers to train engineers at ATC. We offer on/offline classes taught by high quality lecturers from HYU or SNU in order to train academic staffs by providing lectures and lab classes. In addition to these educational activities, this program hosts international conferences and competitions for start-up companies as well as hosting Global Solar Volunteers with iTEC Renewable energy center in Tanzania. This program is to build infrastructure of self-sustaining energy management and to help directly for industrial development by contributing Tanzania engineering education and local community development.

Therefore, by sustaining continuous relationship with Tanzanian manpower, this program is intended to establish friendly network and science policy between the two countries.
