소개

Innovative Technology and Energy Center (iTEC), an NGO in Tanzania, was established by Seoul National University (SNU), funded by Korean Ministry of Science and ICT through National Research Foundation of Korea.

iTEC aims to develop, educate and commercialize innovative appropriate technology suitable for Africa using renewable energy and ICT in electric power, agriculture, health and education for the sustainable development in Africa.

iTEC has built four solar power plants in rural off-grid villages in Tanzania with smart grid technology, developed appropriate technologies and provided technical training, established a start-up entrepreneurship development program with annual business plan competitions, and recently developed an electric motorcycle prototype which is under testing in rural and urban roads in Tanzania.
