안녕하십니까?
오는 12월 4일(금) 2020 과학기술 ODA 국제컨퍼런스 및 제 11회 적정기술 국제학술대회를 개최합니다. 과학기술정보통신부가 주최하고, 한국연구재단ㆍ녹색기술센터ㆍ적정기술학회가 주관하며, 서울대의 후원으로 마련되는 2020 과학기술ODA 국제컨퍼런스에 여러분을 모십니다.

2020 과학기술ODA 국제 컨퍼런스는 "포스트 팬더믹, 과학기술의 도전"이라는 주제로 개최합니다. 과학기술 ODA는 환경, 보건, 에너지와 같은 전 지구적 현안에 최적의 해결책을 제시할 수 있는 가장 중요한 분야입니다. 특히, 올해는 COVID-19의 세계적 대유행으로 전 세계 보건ㆍ의료시스템의 중단, 지역사회의 격리, 사회적 격리로 인한 교육 및 경제활동의 중단 등 초연결 사회를 지향하던 지구촌 사회가 경험해보지 못한 새로운 위기에 직면하고 있습니다.

현재의 COVID-19 상황과 앞으로 발생 가능한 유사 상황에서도 보급할 수 있는 기술의 필요성이 체감되고 있으며, 시민 사회와 과학기술자들은 오픈 소스로 배포되는 기술을 통하여 자발적으로 보건 위기 대응에 나서고 있습니다. 실제로 이와 같은 기술들은 보건 위기의 최전선에서 즉시 활용이 가능한 필수적 대응기술이며, 적정기술이 개발도상국에만 적용되는 기술이 아니라 보건 시스템이 붕괴된 모든 시민 사회의 위기를 극복할 수 있는 기술로서의 역할을 하고 있습니다.

이에, 사회의 안전을 보장할 수 있는 여러 가지 방안과 사례들을 과학기술 ODA의 테두리 안에서 살펴보고, '비대면사회'에 적정기술을 포함한 과학기술 ODA에 대한 새로운 비전과 역할을 함께 논의할 수 있는 교류의 장을 마련하고자 합니다. 기조강연에서는 국제백신연구소, 한국의 drive-thru등의 의료 대응, 적정기술과 팬데믹, 그리고 그린ODA 등이 소개될 예정입니다.

지속가능한 인류의 발전을 위한 기술 혁신과 글로벌 이슈 해결을 고민하는 자리에 함께 해주시기 바랍니다. 감사합니다.

Welcome to the 2020 International Conference on Science & Technology ODA.
The 2020 International Conference on Science & Technology ODA will be held on Friday, December 4th. We are pleased to invite you to the 2020 International Conference on Science & Technology ODA, hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, organized by the National Research Foundation of Korea, the Green Technology Center, and the Academic Society of Appropriate Technology, and sponsored by Seoul National University.

The conference will be held under the theme of "Post Pandemic, Challenges of Science and Technology." Science and Technology ODA is the most crucial arena that could provide optimal solutions to global issues such as environment, health and energy.

Against the backdrop of the global pandemic of COVID-19, it has led to a new crisis such as the disruption of the global health and medical system, the isolation of local communities, and the suspension of education and economic activities that the global communities, which was aiming for a hyper-connected society, has never experienced before.

We all feel keenly the necessity of technologies that could be distributed in the current COVID-19 and similar situation in the future. Civil society and scientists are voluntarily responding to the health crisis through open source technologies. These technologies are essential countermeasures that can be used immediately at the forefront of the health crisis. In this context, appropriate technologies are not only applied to developing nations, but served as technologies that can overcome the crisis of all civil society where the health system has collapsed.

Accordingly, we would like to lay the ground for academic exchanges in which we examine various measures and cases that can ensure the safety of society within the framework of science and technology ODA, and discuss a brand new vision and the role of science and technology ODA including appropriate technology in the society with digital communication. In addition, the International Vaccine Institute, Korea’s drive-thru medical service, Appropriate Technology and the Pandemic, and the Green ODA will be introduced in the keynote lecture.

We look forward to joining you in contemplating technological innovation for sustainable human development and solutions for global issues.
