과학기술 ODA 국제컨퍼런스제10회 적정기술국제컨퍼런스 2019

안녕하십니까?
2019 과학기술 ODA 국제컨퍼런스 및 제 10회 적정기술 국제학술대회에 여러분들을 모시고자 합니다. 우리나라의 ODA는 이제 세계 곳곳에서 교육, 보건, 인프라구축 등의 분야에서 헌신적 활동과 함께, 국제 협력과 지역 개발에 참여하며, 많은 성과를 이루고 있습니다. 그중에서도 과학기술 ODA 분야는 환경, 보건, 에너지와 같은 글로벌한 문제들과 함께, 지역의 토착화된 문제와 빈곤에 최적의 해결책을 제시 할 수 있는 가장 중요한 분야입니다.

올해는 정부의 신남방정책과 함께 아세안지역과의 정상회의가 개최되는 해입니다. 아세안 지역은 우리나라의 적정기술과 과학기술 ODA가 가장 활발하게 진행되는 지역이기도 합니다. 따라서 금년도는 ‘과학기술을 통한 지역 공동 번영’이라는 주제로 개최합니다. 과학기술 ODA를 통해 세계의 여러 지역과의 협력, 공동 번영할 수 있는 활동, 그리고 적정기술에 대한 새로운 비전과 방향을 함께 논의하는 학술 교류의 장으로 마련하고자 합니다.

이러한 국가적, 사회적 관심속에, 과학기술정보통신부와 함께, 우리나라의 ODA와 적정기술이 세계의 소외받은 지역에 새로운 실천적 대안이 될 수 있는 전기를 마련하고자, 국내의 대학, 연구기관, NGO, 정부기관과 함께 이번 학회를 준비하고 있습니다.

기조강연으로는 UNESCO의 사무총장을 역임한 Irina Bokova 경희대 명예대학장께서, 교육을 통한 가난한 국가의 여성, 어린이, 그리고 주민들의 역량강화에 대해서 발표를 합니다. 서울대학교의 안성훈교수는 제4차 산업혁명의 시대 속에서 적정기술의 방향에 대한 발표를 합니다. UNESCO의 활동 속에서의 사회의 소외받고 있는 지역과 계층에 대한 국제기구의 활동의 소개와 함께, 한국의 대표적인 적정기술을 정리하며, 미래의 활동방향등이 소개될 예정입니다.

또한, 기조강연으로 오픈소스를 이용한 적정기술과 과학을 전파하고 있는 미국과 유럽의 대표적인 NGO 단체장이 참여를 합니다. 약 25,000명의 회원들이 적정기술을 이용하여 미국을 중심으로 소외된 지역의 삶과 빈곤, 환경과 글로벌 문제의 해결을 위해 노력하고 있는 Engineering for Change (E4C)의 프로그램을 총괄하고 있는 Mariela Machado는 엔지니어링 2030: Social Impact을 위한 Ecosystems이라는 주제로 강연합니다. 유럽을 중심으로 온라인 네트워크를 이용하여 과학기술과 예술을 통한 지역사회와의 협력 활동을 하고 있는 Hackteria의 대표가 오픈기술을 이용한 지역사회의 삶의 개선이라는 주제로 참여합니다. 국내의 많은 적정기술관련 단체들과의 협력과 국제적인 네트워크에 함께 동참할 수 있는 기회로 마련했습니다.

올해로 10회째를 맞는 컨퍼런스는 국내에서 헌신적으로 활동하고 있는 모범적 사례들과 함께, 한국의 과학기술 ODA가 국제적인 네트워크와 함께 새로운 10년을 준비하는 기회를 만들고자 합니다. 많이 참여하셔서, 지속가능한 발전, 기술 혁신과 글로벌 이슈 해결, 그리고 ‘지역과의 협력과 공동 번영’을 고민하는 자리에 함께 해주시기 바랍니다.

Welcome!

We would like to invite you to the 2019 International Conference on Science & Technology ODA, along with the 10th International Conference on Appropriate Technology. ODA activities in Korea is making a lot of achievements by participating in international cooperation and regional development, with dedicated activities in the fields of education, health care, infrastructure construction, etc. all over the world over the past decade. Among them, the science and technology ODA is the most important field that can provide the practical solutions to local indigenous problems and poverty along with global issues such as environment, health and energy.

This year, the special summits are being planned with the ASEAN region, with diplomatic efforts under the government's New Southern Policy. The ASEAN region is at a same time, the region where Korea's appropriate technology and science and technology ODA are most actively progressed. Therefore, this year's event is held under the theme of “Regional Common Prosperity through Science and Technology.” Through the Science and Technology ODA of Science, this conference aims to be a meeting place for academic exchange where we can collaborate with various regions of the world for the mutual prosperity activities, and facilitate in-depth discussion of new visions and directions for appropriate technology. In line with these national agendas and social concerns, universities, research institutes, NGOs, and government agencies are working together, in particularly with the Ministry of Science, ICT, and this conference will provide a precious opportunity to move forward in the filed of development cooperation and appropriate technology.

The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Erina Bokova, the Honorary Dean of Kyung Hee University, who served as Secretary-General of UNESCO, about the empowerment of women, children and residents in poor countries through education. Professor Sung-Hoon Ahn of Seoul National University gives a presentation on the direction of appropriate technology in the fourth industrial revolution. In addition to introducing the activities of international organizations to the underprivileged regions and classes of society within UNESCO's activities, Korea's representative appropriate technologies will be summarized and future directions will be introduced.

In addition, the heads of representative NGOs in the US and Europe, as keynote speakers, who are spreading the appropriate technology and science/engineering using open source. About 25,000 members are participating the Engineering for Change(E4C) to help the poverty, environmental and global issues in underprivileged areas centered in the United States, using appropriate technology. (Mariela Machado, who is the Program Manager in E4C, titled as 2030: Ecosystems for Social Impact. A representative from Hackteria, who works with local communities through science and art using online networks, mainly centered in Europe, to improve regional life using open technologies. This will be a great opportunity to cooperate with many appropriate technology organizations in Korea and to join the international network.

This year’s the 10th anniversary event, along with best-practice examples in Korea, aims to create an opportunity for Korea's science and technology ODA to prepare for a new decade with an international network. We look forward to joining you in the areas of sustainable development, technological innovation and global issues, and “cooperating with local communities and common prosperity”.
